The late 1990’s to early 2000’s was a very exciting time to be at the future forward edge of education technology. Many of our projects were influenced by progress in computational systems such as object-oriented programming, the emergence of personal digital assistants, relational databases, and embedded technologies.
The Center for Technology in Learning was a first of its kind think tank that developed and assessed the integration of technology into K-12 STEM formal and informal learning. Led by Stanford education researchers, I worked alongside preeminent education researchers from U.C. Berkely, Northwestern, TERC (Technical Education Research Center), and other academic and private education research organizations. In essence, I attained my unofficial degree by professional experience in education research, pedagogical practices, and learning technologies. I worked on several education technology and learning assessment projects led by many of my colleagues across the center. Reflecting on the experience, the level of expertise and excellence in the Center for Technology for Learning gave me my informal education technology and learning science degree. Much of what I learned in this position continues to inform and influence my current research and entrepreneurial endeavors with the CONSTRUKTS project. |
The SRI International projects that I designed and developed user interfaces and user experiences for learning technology research included:
