2019 marked the 18th year of Art2Wear.   Students were given an unprecedented opportunity to have their creative visions extended by concepts of cradle-to-cradle design; sustainability; and materials upcycling. Student work was guided by the deep knowledge of the craft of fibers and textiles professors and the global materials and sustainability entrepreneurial perspectives of Raliegh-based cutting-edge design firms. Students from the digital media curriculum designed mystical modern-day augmented reality zoetropes that reflect on issues of sustainability. All-in-all students transformed their research in the life cycle of everyday materials - from fibers to plastics - into provocative garments to be worn and objects to inform.
